California firefighters saved two people who were caught in a flood control channel Monday.
Orange County Fire Authority crews performed the rescue just before 5 p.m. in Santa Ana, according to the department. A man and woman were clinging to the side of a flood control channel beneath a bridge, Capt. Thanh Nguyen told the Orange County Register.
Firefighters deployed a boat under the bridge to rescue the two people, and medics evaluated them at the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital for knee pains, but the man didn't need treatment, Nguyen told the Register.
